I want a lawyer to handle it

A VA-accredited attorney handles your review, for one fixed fee.

For an issue VA has already decided: the attorney writes your strategy, files as your representative, goes to your Higher-Level Review informal conference, and sees it through to VA's decision. No percentage of your back pay. Both options start with a free 15-minute call.

Compare the two options

You don’t have to pay for help. Veterans Service Organizations and county veteran service officers help with VA claims for free. Find an accredited representative.

Responsible law firm

ClaimScopeLaw LLC

A law firm. Its attorney is VA-accredited and admitted to practice in Iowa.

Representation before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. ClaimScopeLaw does not practice state law outside Iowa. Free consults and attorney representation are provided by ClaimScopeLaw LLC, a law firm separate from ClaimScope LLC, the software company. A consult doesn't make you a client unless you sign an engagement agreement.

Two options, chosen by your situation

Fixed fees. Neither takes a percentage of your back pay.

One Decision

One decision, one review route: a rating, service connection or new evidence.

$995fixed fee

A VA-accredited attorney reviews your decision, writes your strategy, files one Higher-Level Review or Supplemental Claim as your representative, attends the informal conference for a Higher-Level Review, and sees it through to VA's decision.

Complex Decision

CUE, effective dates, TDIU, the Board, or several decisions or routes.

from$1,495fixed fee

Attorney-led representation for the harder cases, with every filing listed in your agreement: clear and unmistakable error, earlier effective dates, TDIU, Board appeals, or more than one decision. The attorney sets the fixed fee for your case after reviewing your intake, before you sign anything.

Pay in 3 payments

No interest or fees. Work starts after the first payment.

Credit for ClaimScope

What you paid for a ClaimScope review in the last 60 days comes off the fee.

No viable route? Full refund

If the attorney finds no reasonable basis for any review route before writing your memo, you get every dollar back. This depends on the attorney's review, not on VA's decision.

A year of Claim Watch

Deadline reminders and review reruns from ClaimScope, included for a year at no charge.

The fee is owed whatever VA decides, except as the refund terms in the signed agreement provide. Fees are paid to ClaimScopeLaw LLC’s client trust account. One Decision ends when VA decides the Higher-Level Review or Supplemental Claim. Complex Decision covers the work listed in your agreement; a Board hearing is included only if it is listed. Court appeals are not included in either.

No relationship exists at intake. If accepted, the limited attorney-client relationship begins only under the signed engagement documents and applies only to the identified post-decision issues and services. Contact ClaimScopeLaw LLC at support@claimscopeveterans.com.

Understand the fee difference

A fixed fee and contingency representation are different arrangements.

Many accredited representatives use contingency agreements for ongoing representation. The examples below simply illustrate what 20% of a hypothetical past-due award would equal; they do not describe every firm or predict an award.

Illustrative past-due award20% illustrationClaimScopeLaw fee
$10,000$2,000$995, or from $1,495, fixed
$25,000$5,000$995, or from $1,495, fixed
$50,000$10,000$995, or from $1,495, fixed
$100,000$20,000$995, or from $1,495, fixed

Fixed fee

The Veteran pays the disclosed fee whether or not benefits are later awarded. The attorney files the review request and represents the Veteran through VA's decision on it.

Contingency representation

The representative generally assumes an ongoing role and earns the agreed percentage only when qualifying past-due benefits are awarded.

ClaimScope does not currently offer full contingency representation through this product. A later engagement involving the same matter would require a separate conflicts review, scope, and fee agreement, including appropriate treatment of any prior flat fee.

Post-decision scope

The intake identifies the exact VA decision and issues so the attorney can define the engagement and, for Complex Decision, set the fee.

Conflicts before advice

Submitting intake does not create an attorney-client relationship. The review begins only after conflicts clearance, written acceptance, signature, and payment.

Required sequence

A clear path from intake to filing.

  1. 1Confirm that VA already decided the specific issue.
  2. 2Request the option you want, or a free 15-minute call to decide.
  3. 3Identify the decision, issues, deadlines, and current representative.
  4. 4ClaimScope completes conflicts, eligibility, and capacity review.
  5. 5If accepted, review and sign the written engagement agreement.
  6. 6Pay the fixed fee to ClaimScopeLaw, in full or in three payments.
  7. 7Receive your written strategy and conference; then the attorney files and represents you through VA's decision.
Not for a new initial claim. VA must already have issued a decision on the specific issue.

Start with the decision already issued.

There is no charge to submit an eligibility request. If accepted, you receive the exact scope and fee terms before signing and paying.
